Default Christmas Gift: Singer Featherweight 221 - need accessories

My dear husband gifted me with this lovely jewel. Unfortunately, it did not come with accessories. At a minimum, I need bobbins. Anyone got an extra bobbin?

Hancocks sells bobbins for the Featherweight, and you can use a coupon.

Bobbins are very easy to find. Hancock's or online - just type in FW bobbins. I usually buy 10 or 12 at a time.

Sweet....hope you enjoy many years together! I've always bought "vintage" bobbins, sometimes on ebay or from businesses that do the repaint/restores. I've gotten some from Keelers at $1.39 each. I just checked and they are out of stock.

    http://www.keelersales.com/servlet/C...erweight+Parts

They do have "new" one tho for .50 each.

What a beautiful machine! It will use any low shank attachment. Either go to www.sew-classic.com or Ebay and look for low shank attachments. Don't be a sucker for low shank attachments listed specifically for the Featherweight with a jacked up price to go along with them. Short Shank is Short Shank. If you want to stick with vintage singer parts that is OK just don't pay for the Featherweight hype some sellers try to pull.

One attachment you might want to get is a vintage button holer. The featherweight uses the one in the green oblong square box not the green egg shaped box.

The buttonholer in the green egg shaped box will also work on a Featherweight. It's just that the older style in the darker green rectangular box is black and will "match" your Featherweight better. The buttonholer in the egg shaped box was updated and is a light beige/tan colour. The buttonholers that won't fit a Featherweight are the ones in the maroon or dark rose cases as those models were made for slant needle machines (think Singer 301). Those vintage buttonholers in the dark green cases will fit any short shank machine and work very well on my 201 Singer and even my much newer Janome 6500 (don't like the programmed buttonholes on this machine) and I use my faithful old Singer buttonholer which is older than I am all the time.
