Default Vintage Machine Displays/Arrangements

There have been several folks ask about how we display/work with so many machines, and I've seen a few photos posted that make me look like a clutterbug and a slob with no style sense (I am, but that's beside the point! ) I am going to be brave, stick my neck out, and post some photos of how my machines are arranged or in one case, displayed...hopefully the rest of you will add to this thread with photos of your own!

I live in a two bedroom apartment, and while it's large as apartments go, I could use another bedroom for guests...and maybe another machine or two!

There are five machines in this first picture....the "desk" is a Kenmore 84 cabinet, next to it is a 15-91 in a Queen Anne cabinet, and then my 500A. On top of the Kenmore desk are my featherweight and 28K.

The other two cabinets in my sewing room are for my 201-2, and my 403.
I also have a few (or more) portables in the closet that aren't shown.

My Wheeler & Wilson 8 in the corner of the living room.

My Singer 9W and Davis VF

There's the majority of them...I have a couple in my bedroom, various portables here and there, and a Redeye in a case waiting for it's treadle "skirt" to get finished.

C'mon....if I can suck it up and post pics of my clutter and messy sewing room, you can too!!

You do very well for having only two bedrooms. I am sure you know where everything is. Thanks for showing us.

Ok, I'm going to try this once more. Hopefully all pictures are ok this time around.

My "command center", a name my husband gave to my small sewing section. This space is ~ 7ft x 7 ft which holds seven sewing machines. From left are Davis NVF, FW, Eldredge Two Spools, Free No.5 (cabinet top holds my sewing notions), Necchi Supernova Ultra, Standard Rotary treadle, and Singer 15-90.

In the same room is a chaise that my husband sits on while chatting with me as I sew. Next to that is the bookcase that hold, Davis NVF, Two Spools, Singer 66-1, Singer 15-90 HC, Singer W9, Singer 328k, and on the floor in front is Singer 401.

In the living room behind sofa is my Singer 201.

In dining room is Singer 224 and Singer VS2. Behind the Singer VS2 is an axe that my son made.

My Eldredge right now sits in the garage awaiting repairs to its cabinet top. I don't know where that machine will go once that project is completed.

I just love both displays of sewing machines... I have two Featherweights, 91, 66, old Domestic (1970's) and a Kenmore (2005 I think)... I have posted them on Lostn vintage site in the past. If I get a chance to find the pictures I will post them here as well. Thanks for sharing yours with us.

Default My mess

If Charlee can show you hers I can show you mind or should I say mess. This is only part of the collection. I have four vintage machines in the guest house and one in the upstairs bedroom and a couple on the work table. This is all in the upstairs den where we do everything. The parlor is a Davis, 27 on top of grandma's redeye,319 and in the bent wood top is a Redeye HC. And the rest is sewing stuff. I have about 7 more thru out the house. Pat will only let me sew in the den

Beautiful displays and gorgeous machines! I only have seventeen of them and no where (yet) to display them all unless they're working...soon, soon.

Enjoyed seeing all the great machines set up and ready to go. I don't have enough to make an interesting display, but enjoy the 3 I do have! I make myself walk on by for fear I might have to buy one when I see one!
