The Pfaffs made in Germany were really great. I have 2 of them. One was given to me for Christmas in 77 and it is still working like a charm. The other was the last one built before faff sold out and it is an embroidery machine and still works with no problem. I also have other brands, but have found the older Pfaff's hold up much better.

The Pfaff 1222e was my first Pfaff. Its a very nice machine, made in about 1976, in Germany. It had the IDT(built in walking foot), it was really nice for all sewing, quilting too. It has an 8" throat space, sold it to help finance the purchase of another machine. I also own a Pfaff 60 treadle made in 1955, not sold in USA; came home with an Army wife from Germany.

I am a Pfaff fan too, you can't beat the older ones for sure. My first one was a 1209 bought in late 70's and still runs perfectly, never a problem except had to replace the needle threader. My newest one is an Expression 2.0 and I am in love with this one although I don't expect it will last any where near as long as my 1209. I also had a 2034 which was very nice too but sold it to buy the 2.0 which had a 10" bed which was what I wanted as I do mostly large quilts. Right now working on a king size one and will be ready to quilt it soon. It will be interesting to see how much better the extra space is. Enjoy your Pfaff!
