$200 is bottom line in our area for a machine that is not in mint condition but has a case and no attachments or table.

I believe the antique dealer is speaking only of the value as an antique not the value to a quilter. Featherweights are very popular and $200 is certainly not an unreasonable price.

or she could know about Featherweights and hopes she can buy it for $50 and sell it for a whole lot more. Please tell your friend not to take any less than $400

I saw one in an antique store in Anacortes WA a few years ago for $950.00. Have seen "rare" ones @ featherweight show for over $1,300.00. She can sell it for whatever a person is willing to pay! Good luck!

Is yours a 222 free arm? If its not then $900 is outrageous.

I paid $450 for mine 10 years ago, and it is in stellar condition.

The dealer will always tell you they aren't worth much because they buy low and sell very very high prices.

Anything they buy they don't pay much for that's how they make their living.

Really, I have been looking at real old models and $200 is a steal. I think their first year was around 1934. I really want a 1935 (the year my Mother was born), but a nice one in good shape is hard to find. I want good looking decals. My Grandmother had a Singer 201 and she used it so much that there isn't a decal on it, and it's just not pretty.
