Yes indeed there is. I don't have any pics of them at this time. GW had one on auction some time back that I thought was a 128. But it wasn't. Should have grabbed the pics of it. Joe |

I could have swore I posted a picture of a blue 128 clone but I'm not finding it now.
Here it is again. [ATTACH=CONFIG]474007[/ATTACH] I kind of wonder why the Japanese bothered with copying a long bobbin design. As far as I know they were on their way out by then. I'm kind of surprised they didn't stick with the more modern round bobbin designs. To confuse the issue further China has made copies of the model 15 too. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...e-t239812.html There are also the reproduction Singers that were made in China that have the black plastic feed dog knob. If you want one: Great! Just don't be fooled into thinking it's an original model 15. Some sellers either try to pass them off as antiques or are misinformed themselves. You can usually find the originals cheaper than the reproduction machines. The early 15 clones were almost exact copies, later on as styles changed, the Japanese started changing the cosmetics of the machines to match the times. First were different colors, then you see more "squared off" shapes of the bodies, then zigzag machines were introduced and even more modern styling but they all share the same basic bobbin and hook design and they all still have the tension on the side. "Will the real 15 clone please stand up" has already been mentioned. There's also an excellent thread covering the zigzag and decorative stitch Japanese machines, I forget the title. I think you could spend a lifetime collecting nothing but 15 clones if you wanted to and you probably still wouldn't have every variation sold. Rodney |

[ATTACH=CONFIG]474154[/ATTACH] Straight up Singer 15 clone. I'm not sure of the manufacture date or which Japanese company made it. I couldn't find an identifying mark when I looked. I think the only major difference between this and a real Singer is the feed dog knob. Rodney |
