I think this board is more of a ward--an ICU for vintage machine sickies. But the problem is, the staff have all been infected!

My daughter just told me she no longer wanted the White. Am I upset? no, no, NO. I'm going to play with it tomorrow. I moved it to a different cabinet that is in the living room. The Kenmore is in the laundry room (lots of good morning light in there and it's where my mom kept her sewing machine) The Featherweight is in my bedroom in it's case keeping my JC Penney company which is in it's case too. The little plastic Singer kid's machine is in the garage with the Old Singer that I can't remember what model it is. It needs new paint. Anyone ever repaint their old Singer?

I started with cleaning a machine for a friend. I now have 13, I know that is not much and I do plan to part with them when I find a "worthy person" to gift them too. I have given away six machines to beginner sewers and plan to do more in the future. Good Luck on the addiction.

Yup, you caught the bug. It's totally contagious. DH & I have always loved going to thrift stores, now he asks me for the "sewing machine report" when we're leaving. How many I saw, how many I was tempted to buy, and how many are just like one I already have. :D And he knows better than to come anywhere near me while I'm actually looking at a machine because I'll start telling him all about it and he is NOT interested!! And of course some times he doesn't need to ask anything because I'm heading towards the register clutching something heavy with a big grin on my face, LOL.

I also have a Kenmore 158-850. I go to fabric.com.

I have lost a guest bedroom and my son is going to loose his study room soon. I have twenty that I will admit to but more like 40 hidden here and there. The ones in cases are easy to hide but my passion is the treadles.

I am up to 5. Can't possibly fit anymore in here, at least not until my kids start moving out. The oldest is 19, he's in college locally so still lives at home. As soon as he goes i get my sewing room back!

Time to narrow your selections to machines in cases. :) They stack much better than cabinet machines. I have 7 machines just in the spare BR and try really hard not to think about the actual total. I'm also careful never to have all my machines in the same place at the same time. My wife doesn't want to see that. ;)

I had to move 5 times in 3 yrs so really did downsize. But now they just start popping up ... They seem to be like rabbits and reproduce when I am not looking....
