Sorry, no interest in the Awls...

The Florence was before "Systems" was a thing.

those look like modern industrial curved needles

those needles are awesome. they would make some collector(s) VERY happy. ya just gotta line up the right machines... You might PM Cathy(Mizkaki) she is Quite knowledgeable about needles even collecting them herself.

so, I fabricated a spool pin last night.

Note the location and that the same spool pin is used for the bobbin winder and the sewing machine. I have never seen an old machine where the thread is held so far away from the machine.

It threads up by going through the hole at the top of the tension and then TWICE around the tensioner (it actually says in the manual "twice, or more as needed to keep it from slipping"

Fascinating machine, glad you found a shuttle and bobbin. Since you have 1 to look at, helps if you ever needed to make one. How long are the needles before bending? What shank dia? Looks like reversing the bend could be do-able?
