Sorry, no interest in the Awls...
The Florence was before "Systems" was a thing. those look like modern industrial curved needles |

yeah, but I got more than two dozen with my W&W..
so far I have used one, I have given two to a collection/museum in Washington, and am about to give two more to a lady from the W&W group who has had a machine for a while with no needles. I figure they are worth more to me as sources of good karma than as sale items. but yea, at 25-30 ea x 20+ needles would fund a machine or two.... |
Thanks, don't need any bait laying around and I'd probably trade it in on something Davis.

so, I fabricated a spool pin last night.
Note the location and that the same spool pin is used for the bobbin winder and the sewing machine. I have never seen an old machine where the thread is held so far away from the machine. It threads up by going through the hole at the top of the tension and then TWICE around the tensioner (it actually says in the manual "twice, or more as needed to keep it from slipping" |

I am having a hard time finding needles for this one. I am even considering taking one of my curved Wheeler & Wilson Needles, annealing the spring out, reversing the bend, then re-tempering it.
