Can I come over??? |
It is beautiful. I have 3 tan ones would love to have a black one...
|
It was a local pickup...Had to drive about 4 hrs. to get it, but
it was worth it....she had other people interested but they were too far away.....that was to my advantage...There isn't a mark on the machine..were a couple of fine marks on cabinet that I covered with mahogany stain & you can't even see them ... they were just hairline scratches..not really in the wood... I'm doing the happy dance! |
Love your 301! Beautiful cabinet, how great that is! The sewing room is awesome!
My Opal is 1951 and my Ester is 1951, twins! Great machines! |
She is beautiful as is your sewing room.

Your cabinet looks just like the one I have! And your stool too, just a different color on the seat. Mine is a 1950 model, according to my aunt when she gave it to me.
I love your sewing room! :-D Melody |
Oh my goodness but that machine is a little beauty! Use it well!!!!! And your sewing room is lovely!!
|
Looks to be bran new, and love your sewing room :D
|
Congrats! I'd love to have one of those!
|
Very nice! I think I saw that on ebay when I was looking.
I just bought a 1946 Singer 201-2 to put in Mom's old cabinet that I now have. I learned to sew on her 201-2 & decided to restore the cabinet to its former glory, or I'd have purchased a 301 - actually like them a lot - congrats! |
Wonderful. Love your room, too. Did they ship the cabinet as well?
|
Congratulations - I know you will love the 301. I have 4 of them. I purchased my black, long bed 301 in 1955 in Pensacola, FL - clothed 4 children and myself. Only maintenance that cost was the rubber circle for the bobbin winder. Oh and of course, bulbs. I piece all my quilt tops on the 301 - almost a perfect 1/4" seam. I could go on and on about what a great machine it is but don't want to bore everyone.:)
|
she's a beauty and looks like new, she must not have been used very much. Such a good find!

I have a 301 portable and I love it. I use it when I need an extra machine for granddaughters of even if I want to watch TV with my husband. I set it on the kitchen table for the evening. It has a beautiful stitch.
|
Congrats! I got my 301 on Ebay, too. I don't have a cabinet, though, and mine came in a case. Yours looks beautiful. Have fun with it!!
