SusieQOH, I won't be doing large quilts. At least not yet lol. But I sew larger bags that were really hard to shove through the small space on my Bernina 215. I have started FMQ, a little. That's been fun.

LeonF, that was my thought exactly.

frodo, thanks for tip. I've added it to my tips and suggestions list.

I'm trying to find manuals with clear pictures or drawings so I can see what's missing or needs to be replaced, etc. I've watched the video that was suggested, and I've cut and pasted parts of Glenn's thread too.

Thank you Janey, bkay and WIChix! I finally, looked through the rest of the manual for the 101 and sure enough there was the table like mine. A 306.

When I first looked at the manual, I only saw the 40 on the first couple of pages, so needless to say I was very confused. Can I write that off to being a woman of a certain age?

Thank you!

Carol

You will get many years of service out of your 66! I too have one and it sings when I use it. Best of luck getting it where you want it to be so it too will sing!

Thanks juliasb! I think all she needs is a new belt. Can't wait to start sewing with her. I'll keep you all posted.

You'll need to trim the treadle belt to size and poke ( or drill) a hole for the staple. you want it a bit loose. Be careful no tto stab yourself if the belt rolls.

Better not punch a hole in the belt for this machine.;) It is a newer 66 with the motor.

Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

leonf, was that a test? ;)

Janey, that was one thing, in my limited knowledge of vsm, that I did know! :)

ugh.. I think I'll go crawl back under a rock. Sorry.

leonf don't you dare, apologize or crawl under a rock! We need you! I had to tease you just a wee bit!
