Joy, your 130 was manufactured in 1952. My mother also had a Pfaff 130 from 1952 that she used almost everyday for 55 years. I have that 130 now, and it still sews great! By the way, her name was also Joy! The only thing she asked me to promise to keep after she was gone was her Pfaff 130!

I wonder if it will do me any good to ask my GD not to get rid of my Elna when I give it to her (after I am gone, in the meantime, no one gets it!!!!!). I have a Pfaff out in my collection of sewing machines, but I forget which one it is. It is old, but I am not sure how old.

cricket_iscute, what kind of foot do you use on your Pfaff 130 for FMQ? Is it a Pfaff original, made for that machine?

I love my pfaff 130!! Mine is completely restored and runs like a champ! For a timing belt or any other hard to find parts you should go to zeussmachines.com (i think that is it). Jay is a MASTER of restoration and knowledge on the pfaff 130's. He worked on mine and with everything I have in it, it's worth about $800 - sounds crazy but this machine is pristine. I even have the original german light that is extremely rare and the 'dial a stitch' for the embroidery attachment. I picked it up for $20 at a garage sale and it was in pitiful shape. When Jay finished with it, it looked brand new! Mine is 1952 also and has the manual hand crank attachment (great for on the sailboat with no shore power). Anyway, you have an awesome machine IMHO and I hope you enjoy it!

They are extremely sought after machines, especially in California. They are strong and can mend sails so many people use them for that. I have one...it's great!
