Need info on Phaff 130 sewing machine
 

Can anyone tell me if a Pfaff 130 sewing machine is worth anything? I can't find the date on it. The serial number is 4 656 206. I bought it last Sat. at a garage sale for $5.00. It is in great condition, works great, has manual with it. Just needs cleaning and oiling. Thanks

You're funnin us, right? Yes the Pfaff 130 is a good machine and it does have some value.
There's one on GW auctions right now sitting a $125.00 { http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem...temID=12877376 }
And only the really "in demand" machines go high on GW.

You really should be ashamed of yourself for taking advantage of the poor folks who sold (?) you that machine.

I have a Pfaff 130, and it is my main machine. It is wonderful! Mine was free from a farmer whose wife wouldn't let him sew using her plastic Singers. I don't know how to get the exact date of your Pfaff, but the date in the manual will give you a clue. Did you get a cabinet and attachments?

Joe, the young lady just wanted to get rid of it. I probably could have gotten it for 3.00. Just didn't want to be cheap. No I didn't get attachments with it.

I've seen people wanting $300 and up for those on CL but they are still for sale... LOL

A 130 is well worth that price if it's in good condition and running well.

You got a fantastic deal, provided the timing belt is in good condition. That's about the only thing that most repairmen won't touch. Otherwise, the pfaff 130 will just sew and sew. I have my grandmother's 130 that my dad bought for her in the 1950's. Most low shank attachments will fit the pfaff. It does use narrow bobbins. You can almost always pick up attachments, etc on Ebay. I just bought a coffee grinder attachment to add to my grandmother's 130.

I bought a pristine, unscratched, mechanically perfect Pfaff 130 with all attachments, a hand crank conversion kit, bobbins, etc. from a collector and paid about $330 for it five years ago. It is still unscratched. I do use it, but not with pins. It free motion quilts like a dream.

Don't try bobbin work with it (where you use a different thread in the bobbin and sew upside down on the work). Ask me how I know!

Spare parts were destroyed by the company some years ago and are hard to find. The timing belt is the most critical item.
