That's a gorgeous, simple cabinet and probably doesn't have a speck of composition wood in it. I'd bet it will outlast even the youngest members of this board and their children. :D

I suspect this is a machine the Amish would use. They are not adverse to new technology, just being "tied" to the outside world with electric lines.

Where in Omaha was there an original treadle for $6 I am only 2 hours away?

Wow, that's pretty pricey. Not that it's not worth it for what I'm guessing is beautiful workmanship. I guess if I compared the cost to a first class treadmill I might be able to make a case that I'd be using it as an exercise program.

I found a treadle for $5.00in Fruita,Co. its just west of Grand Juction , no machine and needed some wood redoing, but it turned out pretty.I put a singer 15 in it & it treadles perfict. DottieBug

I paid $100 bucks for my antique treadle and it has superb stitching and seven drawers!
