Oh my how wonderful! But let me advise you...do not look on EBay, Craig's List or Goodwill.com! One machine creates the need for other's! LOL I got a 1955 Featherweight for Christmas and enjoyed bringing her back to life and since I learned how to sew on a treadle I started a search for one. Found a beautiful but rusty and dirty 1923 Red Eye -66 on Craig's List had to have it. Cleaned and polished for over a month off and on and she came out beautiful ! It's addicting restoring and saving these beauties. AND yesterday picked up a 1901 28K hand wheel coffin style. She even sews and in good shape. Got home and a friend called and said her brother has an old machine he is going to toss...so that will be #4!!!!!! I can tell by your excitement this could be you....Beware! You've been warned! LOL

Oooh I am so excited for you! I LOVE black and gold tacky Singer machines the best!

Wonderful gift. Now, of course you need to find her a sister. Maybe a "tacky" black Singer Featherweight or a 301A? Of course, then you'll want to spread out to the cousins -- a lovely New Home or one of the vintage Japanese class 15 clones. Oh, the possibilities are endless!
