Ooooh! The suspense is killing me!
I have a dear friend who knows I make quilts and just about anything else involving fabric. Her DH told her last night she could give me his mother's old sewing machine, (he is over sixty, and remembers his mom using it when he was a kid) since she would have loved knowing it would be used by another quilter. My friend has had it in her basement since they married many years ago because she thought it was ugly! I asked her what it looked like since I have never been in her basement. Her exact words were "I don't know much about it except that is a tacky black and gold singer". She is bringing it to me tomorrow, and I am so excited, I could not sleep last night! This will be my very first antique machine and I will be on this forum to get any help offered. Wish me luck!

oh goodie! we love things to look forward to!
Before I read black and gold I was worrying it would be a singer touch and sew :) If it's black and singer, it will be a treasure! |
Congrats! The tacky black and gold machines are my favorite.
If it's too old and tacky you can send it my way. :) Rodney |
you must take a pix when you get it -- we are all on pins and needles waiting to see
