I'm on some Singer lists on Yahoo groups and there's a lady on there - Cindy Peters - who sells stuff - I've gotten belts from her. Also other people have bits and pieces that they sell.
Singer, and vintagesingers
the 99 is a nice little machine - a small 66 type machine.
It's up to you to decide if you want to fix it up.

I might some day. I remember how nicely it sewed. I even used to know how to use the cams. But I'd feel guilty for not using my current expensive machine that I just had to have...lol.

um, the 301 does NOT have cams/discs - it is a straight stitch only machine, the 306, 319, 328, 401 have cams (and others)

lol...I love your "um"....my machine looks like the 301 but its the color of the 401, has cams, and has a lift up extension to the left like the 301. Can you tell me what it is?

"UMMM" now I am curious too. I also think the only machines that have lift-up extensions are 301 & 221. and no cams for 301.

Hi I have the Singer 500A. Which is very much like the 400, it came out in 1963. My Mom and Aunt bought it for my Grandma. It has pattern disks for some of the special stitches but most of them are built in. I adore this machine! It is very close to industrial strength.
Thank you for the pictures and information on the other old Singers!

If you look for the serial number (often underneath) we can figure out what kind of Singer you have. I use all my machines at different times...a featherweight, a 185 J (the green "Barbie" singer), a 401a and a Morse Fotomatic. All were made in the 50s, just like me!!

Some of the German made Singers have fold-up beds like the 221 and 301's.

According to my records you have a Model 66 with 35000 allotted on April 1 1930. What decals do you have an it and is it electric or treadle operated?
