It seems high to me. I got one last month on craigslist with original case and accessories for $70. But, worth like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. You could always make an offer. Can't hurt to try. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to go for it.

Mine was $85 with the Art Deco cabinet. And it came with all the attachments and the manual, too. But I love her.

Did you end up getting it? I don't think the price is too high. It's a great sewing machine. I have just finished making a log cabin quilt on my 2 tone 301 and I'm in love  with this machine! It just hums merrily along. I'm also working on some 'crumb' quilt squares and no matter how small of a scrap I am working with, it just zips right through without being eaten by the machine!

I have one and I love it, I prefer it over my other machines The price is kind of high to me, but I only paid 25 for mine and it came with the case and tons of attachments.

I got it for a little less, but it is in mint condition-and you are right, it hums right along...I love it!

I have 7 301's (Yeah, I know). Condition is very important, but also color and bed length. The black long beds fetch the highest prices. $150 is certainly not a rip-off, it's a little high, but if everything is there and if it's in good condition with a good case it will retain it's value. 301's make for some sweet sewing. You won't regret it. They beat the overrated featherweight hands-down. They are nice and quiet, easy to maintain yourself too.

I agree with you about the 301 vs. the FW. The 301 is a much better machine and highly under rated.

O.K. Now I don't feel so bad. I already have 3 (one in each color) but my birthday was last week and decided to treat myself to a "new" 301. Funny thing is that the woman who sells the 301's, that I have bought in the past, had already named the one I am now buying, "Kathleen", which is my full name so I guess she is meant to be mine...LOL! I also found another one on Craigslist that I hope to go look at today.

PunkQuilter....that sure is a pretty SM in your avatar. What model is it?

My 301 is my go to machine. It's set up ready to sew all the time. A friend found it in a church closet during a clean up and it was going to be tossed in the junk truck. She brought it to me. I like it better then my Featherweight for sewing. The Featherweight is of course much cuter.
