I agree, $100 is a good price and it's a great machine

My 301 is the long bed and it is black in color-paint is perfect and has not been reconditioned-all original. It looks like it was not used much, but it is now!

The 301 and the 301A are exactly the same machine except that they were made at different factories. If I remember correctly (maybe someone else knows for sure) the machines with the 'A' on them were made in Anderson, N.C. or something to that effect.

Cathy, you are correct and the 301 was manufacted in Elizabethville, NJ.

You are so right!! I also have 3 301's. one is in a cabinet, one in the case, and one that is setting on my shelf. They are an awesome machine. I wouldn't even sell the one in no case for less than $100.00,

My name is Kathleen! (nickname Cassie) Maybe she was meant for me.

The bulk of the 301's were made in Anderson SC. There was an initial group made in NJ but the rest were made in Anderson. When the plant closed in SC the few remaining bodies were sent back to the NJ plant.

I have just located a 301A. The man who has it says the needlebar is broken. Is that common and what other damage could have been casued when that broke? He is asking $65 in cabinet, which sounds quite high to me, but I see many of you get your machines for less than the asking price. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanx, luv2learn

I don't know how to fix a needlebar :?: I think you might find one that is in working order if you keep looking or you could offer him a lower price. That's a high price for something with a broken major part. Of course, if the cabinet is super nice it would be worth it just to have the cabinet.
