It would have to cook my dinner and rub my feet for this price!

I gave $250.00 for mine and that included the postage to get it to me. Mine looks like new and was made in 1952. I love it.

Good luck selling it at that price!

Probably because it is one of the very early ones. I believe the first one came out in 1935 and this is a '36... I don't know the reason, but I know some collectors want the 1936 machines. Maybe someone else here can tell us why? You don't see a 1936 FW come up for sale very often.

There are people out there with more money than sense, and someone will probably buy this machine for that price!

Nope, the first ones were made in 1933, they had green case interiors, but different from this one, have seen his machines before and they are pricey, sleuthing ebay is the way to get a bargain and not overpay. Value created is in the mind of the beholder. The scroll face plates, chrome handwheel and condition of the older ones, and attachments are the difference that drive the price. This is priced for the novice who doesnt know. :)

Perhaps because the seller has math and spelling deficits.ie The machine is 77 yrs old.

It's been on Ebay for quite some time now. I've been seeing it go through at least a couple of rounds.

I was offered $1100 for mine, sight unseen, once. I wouldn't sell it for anything. It was my mother-in-law's wedding gift from her husband.

Also the blackside and crinkle finish machines run $3000 and up.

Anyway part of the base comes off so that you can sew a pant leg or a sleeve from a shirt. These machines are very rare. If you can find one that has a 110 hook-up then it cost more because they were usually made with a 220.

Way Way over priced. I just got one last year for 180 on ebay and orignal case and after a little baby oil to clean the finish it is like brand new.
