Rodney, Lots of prayers and good wishes are on their way to and for you and your family. Each time you use that quilt, you'll think of all the guys who put this together. I got home last night at about 5PM. Things went very well. Better than expected actually. I brought the quilt with me and it was perfect. The size is perfect for someone to cover up with when in a hospital bed. The quilt also received A LOT of favorable comments from the various people coming in and out of my room. :)
I'm taking the same amount of pain meds as I did before my surgery but my pain is zero. My pain never was completely gone before and I'm not even near done healing yet. I think in time I won't need any pain meds any more. It's something to look forward to. I'm also getting around ok and that will only get better in time and when I get fitted for a new leg as well. Another benefit: I've spent the better part of the last 4 years with at least some long term open wounds with some serious odor issues. Think "Roadkill". The smell is gone. I also expect complete healing this time and no more open wounds in the future.
My wife and I were talking and looking back this is a decision that I probably should have made sooner. The benefits just so far outweigh the inconvenience of losing what was at best a marginal leg.
Thank you again everyone for the quilt. I used it the entire time I was in the hospital and it's nice knowing I have so many friends looking out for me.:)

Rodney - so glad you're home and your surgery went so well! And no pain - that's such a tremendous blessing! I'm sure all the prayers and good thoughts for you helped as well as the hugs that came with your quilt.

Continued prayers for swift healing and a good "bionic" leg! (As my GD calls it - her dad has a friend with one.)

Rodney, thank you for updating us. The news about your pain level being at "0" for the first time in awhile is just great news! The pros are sounding far more important than the cons for you, and I appreciate you sharing that with us. Some of us may benefit from your experience, too, someday.
