I looked at a 66 treadle today in a cabinet with serious conition issues and only the flower scroll decals. No attachments and filthy. Seller wants $300.00 firm and she won't even dicker. I tolder that max it was worth $50 and the reality is is that it's worth what someone will pay for it. She wasn't very happy with my information but I wouldn't even pay $50 for it is what I told her. Old, black Singers are a dime a dozen and this one just isn't special nor were the decals special. She siad she'd think about lowering her price. I doubt it though.

1920 something Singer Sewing Machine - $800
This is a black and gold Singer sewing machine...don't know exactly old it is...as far as I know it is in working order, with the exception of needing a belt

(It has been painted black with an oil based paint)

We used it as a table, belonged to my mother....no longer need.

$800.00. or best offer

You must pick up in Richmond and load it as I'm not able to lift.

Emails only....will try to respond quickly

Would love to trade as well, just let me know what you have.

Thanks !
Umm, do they think it's real gold on the machine?

Yep. Have to be, but you have to admit, I've gotten some really nice machines by being patient and waiting for a good price, or someone that would accept a good price! :D

miriam 06-15-2012 05:32 PM

The cheap ones I find all need a lot of work.

Charlee 06-15-2012 05:40 PM

I've been lucky then. :)

The only work I've had to put into any of my machines is a "clean and oil". I don't like to "mechanic" on them...just not my thing. If they need more than a clean up, they don't come home with me.
That opinion would change, of course, based on rarity of the machine. I'd tackle more complex repairs if the machine was a rare one...but we all know how rare rare machines are!! :)
