Could someone please explain, "serious inquiries only" to me. What would a non serious inquirey be? "Hello, I am sending a e-mail about your sewing machine that you obviously don't know a thing about and are chargeing a price that you will never get for it. Please get back to me asap, for what, I don't know." Or maybe one like, "This is a non serious inquirey about your machine you are selling, please send it asap, don't plan on paying for it, but please send it to me."

The Alphasew "portable" machine looks like it's a modern FW replica. I read about it on the board somewhere, but now I can't find the thread. Bigger price tag than the originals and doesn't work well, just sad!
The "serious inquiries" is funny too, must get a lot of window shoppers. :) I actually do appreciate the "if the ad is up, it's available" lines. Much better than calling and finding out it was sold a week ago. |

Much better than calling and finding out it was sold a week ago. The ad would go something along these lines: "Antique sewing machine, comes in a wooden box, mint condition, belonged to my grandmother, needle goes up and down, sells on ebay for hundreds more than I'm asking. No emails, will take phone calls only and don't call unless you are serious!" 555-123-4567 I've actually seen ads like this...no picture, no 'real' description, no price!!!! |
O.K. this isn't a machine and I doubt it's "vintage", but hey it IS POLYESTER and worth a fortune... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tied-green-b...1#ht_500wt_988
I almost gagged at the listing price. |
Candace I about fell off my chair laughing at that one. Where do they come up with this stuff???
Cabbage you make me laugh too. |
