I have infant and toddler great grandchildren and to have that 128 come over on one of the little darlings would horrible. Miss Mamie will stay in her bentwood case on a heavy oak buffet.

Well, we had 100 degree temps for a couple days in a row...and now that we are going on our annual cub scout campout, it's going to be rainy and 50's the whole time. I hate it before I even go.
I guess it's my own fault. Since buying my big ole 66, I'd rather stay home and sew! I hope there aren't 20 pages on here by the time we get back. It'll take me forever to wade through it. This will be the first time we are taking a trip electronic free. It's going to be completely out of our normal schedule which could cause some disgruntled behavior out of #1 son....should be fun, no internet, no machine and disgruntled children, coupled with crappy weather. Don't you wish it were you going instead of me? lol. |
Today I was in a consignment shop and was just wandering through while DH tried on some clothing. I spotted a treadle machine. :) Wandered over to check it out and it would need some overhauling to get it running up to par again. Then I checked the price.... $189.00!!! Then, to my surprise....found that it is a red eye!!! WOW!!! Unfortunately I don't have the funds to afford it. :( If someone in Iowa is interested let me know and I can tell you where it is. :)

Went to a flea market last weekend and found a Kenmore Sew-by-color kit. Kit was missing the cord/zipper foot and cutting guide, but all rest is there, instruction cards are all in good shape and also had a instruction manual for a Kenmore model 48 in perfect condition. Couldn't pass it up for a $3 bill. Lee

My BFF and I went shopping yesterday and I found a Singer treadle machine that seems to be in fairly good shape. Needs a belt and some cleaning, but moves easily top and bottom. According to the Singer website it is a model 15k manufactured in Scotland in December 1947. My phone doesn't seem to be saving my pictures. It's still in the bed of my truck awaiting being moved to my sewing room so the pictures were kind of wonky anyway. Any further info on this machine would be most welcome! Nancy |
