They are really nice machines. I own a 185K (which has the plated faceplate) and I painted one for a little girl for her Christmas Present. You can never go wrong with this machine!

Billy,
When that little girl is old like me and that machine is still running, somebody is still going to be trying to figure that one out. 'oD

Wow Billy, I like your Tucker a whole lot better than the seing machine's tucker! Does the blue Tucker live with you?

Then this weekend I got a great deal. I went into the thrift store that helps support the childrens hospital that I work for and found another one; it's not a featherweight but it is small with the wooden hood on her. I will take her sn # later and see when she was borned. With my employee discount I paid under 30. for her. These are my first two babies and both together were around 300; not bad in my book and they are in great condition. I have to find a manual for each and the first one comes w/attachments and the instructions for using the ruffler that came with it. Thank you for your imput.

I'd bet the second machine you got is a 99 in a Bentwood case. From the way you are describing the machine, it sounds like a 99 in a coffin top, bentwood type of case! Can you post pictures?

Nancy

Ok, I was as few pages behind and I think this got answered - you have the 128?

Here's a couple of designs that google so kindly found...

The last one is applique but thought someone might be interested. I'll have to look for embroidery designs for my old machines so I can make covers...all of my Janomes have their own quilted cover!!

Bronwyn ;-)

Bronwyn, thank you for the links! Wow, you have made a quilted cover for all your old machines -- that is impressive! Could you post some of them for us to see?

Can you imagine what people 100 years from now are going to think? Between the paint jobs, taking motors off and putting machines in treadles, modifying machines to fit in treadles, piecing treadles together of different brands, -- this is going to drive someone crazy some day!

Well, I bid on the Jones machine, but we lost our internet for a few days so I did not get that one! It ended up selling for $62 plus shipping - not bad.

I have been piecing with my new Morse 15 clone (page 929) and I am in love with that machine! It is so quiet - yes, Monica I am using an electric machine! LOL! And, Yes, I perfer my treadles most of the time too! I like to make something with each machine I have! I am still in awe of the workmanship that went into this machine compared to a Singer 15! There are so many features that just are above and beyond the Singer - like the dial on top to drop the feed dogs, the push in oil places instead of holes, the pressure foot release button, and just the overall beauty of the machine itself! I am in love with the clones!

We also got my 99 clone - the 'Made in Occupied Japan' machine that was packed so crappy fixed. DH had to glue and put the cabinet back together. Anyway, I have also been piecing with that machine. It sews perfect too. Also a very well made machine, but not in the same class as the 15 clone!
