Oh, boy, do I sympathize...I just spent $500 on repairs to my home A/C and not sure it is fixed yet!! Just thinking about machines I could have bought. :(

miriam, Thank you for Elna site. I don't plan on mine needs any repair ever, but it's nice to have directions. I probably have an instruction manual somewhere as I am Miss Elna's only owner, but I couldn't find it in a hurry.

I like to get the service manual if I can get one and the instruction manual is nice to have too. I scribble on mine... I got my little Elna running. I gave a little disk spring a hair cut - it was sprung too much to let the disk go down all the way. I took it in to the sewing shop and got a zig zag disk for her and she's working wonderful now. I had forgotten how nice the Elna's stitches.

Picked up a Singer Monogrammer today at the local SA thrift store for $3, all the parts were there including instruction booklet.

The thing that always surprises me about the Elna when I've stitching on another machine or watching videos with tinny sounding new machines is how quiet she is. She doesn't quilt well, but I miss sewing with her. She's doing an apron now with a sundress coming up.

What don't you like about her for quilting?

Miriam, thank you soooo much for that. I spent quite a bit of time looking yesterday, but everything I found took me to the same site. I'm NOT good at google. LOL Too impatient.
