good info. Sounds like I should look for a different machine for the heavy duty stuff. I am looking forward to cleaning her up to be in tip top condition and maybe find a good home for her.

Had a time getting a FW I had sold working properly. The lady said it just starting popping top thread. Then she said she had "messed with" the tensions. After some frustration I found the gib screw was loose enough so it caused the thread to catch when sewing fast. I'ved never had that particular screw loosen voluntarily; perhaps she "messed with" that as well. And got the tension back right; she had tinkered with both top and bobbin tension and it was some kind of a mess. Glad that is behind me.
Now to veg out the rest of the day.

I wonder why no one is bidding on this item?

I saw a couple last week that no one was bidding on them either....

I don't get it either. $175 with free shipping...looks complete...no red flags...no bad feedback. Am I missing something?

I do not know. I am resisting the temptation to contact the seller and ask them what dream world they live in. That IS the most outrageously priced vintage machine I have seen... I think :?:[/quote]

I did write this person and asked him to reconsider his pricing. I told him that I just bought the same Rockeeter for $30.

Mine was red and white striped top with solid red shoprts. Horizontal stripes of course and so very attractive. Luckily, high school had phased out the gym uniform by the time I arrived.

I refuse to describe the swimming suits they made us wear for swimming class.
