What is it about sellers out here? I was just at a local antique store and they had a 1909 66 with lotus decals (not bad, but dirty and gunky with some missing on the bed) in a pretty decent cabinet (not refinished or clean) for $295. When the guy told me that, I about choked. I told him outright that that was WAY too much for its condition. He also had a later model Featherweight with a case that looked great on the outside but was missing its inner shelf and the foot control was mint green. No attatchments for $395. What?

They figure if its old, no matter the condition; its gotta be worth a fortune!

Well, my fingers were itching to get that lotus, but not for that price. This is the same shop where I got my 301 in the art deco cabinet with all the attachments, a box of bobbins and the buttonholer for $85. That was a bargain.

Ooooooo--you must have gone to one of those uptown schools with a swimming pool!! Either that, or the cafeteria regularly flooded. . . . .

LOL!!!!

yeah - we moved to the uppity city - bad scene for me - country gal - two years in a school with very few friends - shy skinny people who don't float don't look good in those swimming suits... not even two on at a time - no where to stuff 'em.... I wish I would have thought of flooding the cafeteria... Now that would have been grand.

This is a look-alike pic, not mine. This was a good buy at $25 and less than 2miles from the house.

I love the machine!!!!

I think we need to Praise God for the copperhead. If he hadn't been bitten and had to go to the doc/hospital, etc. he could have gone a long time without knowing about his cancer and it may not have been so curable.
So while the bite was unexpected, not wanted/needed, painful, etc, etc, it was a Godsend to Billy. PRaying for a complete recovery.

Honestly I dont which came first on this one the chicken or the egg but either way it is being fixed that is all that matters! But I am doing pretty good today I got out and did some running around so it felt good to see something other than these walls here at home.

Pretty quiet running machine and makes a good stitch like the oldies do. I wish they made the newer ones with a reverse stitch as good as this one does. Needs a good home, maybe. Every year I find it harder to carry these 40 pounders.

I hopeyou get feeling much better soon. I have come to think of everyone on the board ad friends, and I especially hate to see any of them ill. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

I had the seven year old come sewing today. I put her on the hand crank and she did very well. Next week her 8 year old cousin is coming and wants to use the treadle. I gave the grandmother a treadle and head. She is getting the cabinet restored and the head is in great shape. She can take over letting her granddaughters sew on it. The girls both have enjoyed sewing on my old machines. I hope that they continue for ever. Kathie
