I think the 1st machine is a Singer 27(long bobbin), the 2nd one is a Singer 115(it takes a round bobbin class 15). I personally prefer a treadle machine over a hand cranked one for daily use. Both are pretty machines, I think that the Singer 115 might be in better condition; the cabinet is beautiful.

Long day of junkin' and beach walkin'... :) In the hotel and getting ready to head to the casino for their fantastic buffet, but wanted to check in and report my "Spotted in the Wild" stuff! :)

Have to tell you about one antique store we stopped at. Treadle cab, obviously refinished...it was VERY light tiger oak...with a note on top: "This is the nicest antique Singer we've ever had in this shop! $695.00." Opened the cabinet to find a rust 66 Redeye, half the decals gone, the bobbin plate gone, bobbin casing rusty... alrighty then!! :lol:
Did see a nice W&G, probably a late 1800 model treadle, decals about 3/4 there, $125. It had a manual in the drawer for Singer MOTORS, as in CARS! LOL
Saw some 15s, a 201-2, A Damascus....none of them terribly expensive, but nothing I want or that I don't either already have.
Did find some cool notion stuff that is coming home with me, I'll post pics when I get home. Also found some goodies for my 9W or W&W! :)

I think I'm gonna go buy a lottery ticket...lol. I decided to give my 66 Redeye a spin and darned if even her tension is looking good today! I SUCK at setting tension and this old gal and the tan 301 have been real burdens to me. They pretty much made me realize I do NOT enjoy working on the old machines, but I DO love to sew on them :). So I am sitting here sewing quilt blocks going back and forth between the two and enjoying this great event..hahaha...for it may not last!

Booo.....I just tried putting my Singer 319 back into the refinished cabinet and I don't know how I did it, but the screws won't go back in to the machine base and hinge. I wound up tightening them so much that the heads got a bit twisted and I had to spend $8 to buy 2 vintage screws:< I hope I haven't stripped the screw threads inside of the machine where it attaches to the cabinet hinge pins. Sigh...

This one has some interesting decals. I have seen this decal (Greek motif) somewhere once when looking at machine decals, but I can't recall where right now. But not on a Singer VS2. I don't think this was the original decals, looks like decals for different time period, 30's or 40's.

I had a blast at the Mini TOGA in June. Cathy was the host for that event. She has a house load of machines, and her garage is way cool since it is full of thousands of parts and two of those Singer 29-?K machines for boot/hat work! She showed me how those machines work. It was fun seeing everyone's work and special treasures that they brought to show and tell. Lots of interesting and different machines to drool over during a TOGA.
