Ok..here are all the pics, as promised:

In her pretty case. The colors stink. The case is green and white. Kinda looks like those overnight bags from luggage collections in the 60's.

Bed looks like she was used a ton. I know she was. Every stitch of clothes the 5 of us wore, excluding undergarments and socks were stitched on this machine. All of mom's stuff too.

Faceplate, needs shined.

Decals on the back:

Close up of the decals in the corners:

Here's the weird part. The spindle that holds the thread on seems to swing out and you can see down into the inner workings of the machine.

Here's the rest.

Bobbin case pictures. After a little fiddling, the case fits right inside. Wow is it narrow!

I've been having fun looking at all those boxes. The googly eyes on the frog made me laugh, and Glen's woodburning is so pretty. :)

:o I'm feeling a bit guilty. I've been scrubbing up a sewing machine I was wanting to sell, but the more I play with it, the more I want to keep it! It's a behmouth of a pink and white Universal with zigzag (Precision, made in Japan). Something must have happened with a belt at one time because it had black tarry/baked on stuff all over the side and up in the wheel, all over the bobbin winder. Yuck! She may even have a name already...Etta...because "At Last" was playing on the radio when I dragged her out to start working on her.

At bottom of page is a button that says "FULL BOARD" or something like that, that turns off the mobile feature, or something like that. Found this when perusing the new site. Didnt know what I had done to change it in the first place til I read the request posted several pages back. Flailing around in a blind stupor! I seem to know just enough to be dangerous, and not enough to be frightened. LOL HAPPY QUILTING

1. Whom ever it was about 20 pages back that got the 401k for $10, with the attachments stored up in the box. WAY cool. I'm jealous!
Glenn, your cigar box DOES rock. Great idea. I'm jealous - and stealing your idea the first chance I get!
Welcome to the new folks just discovering the fun of vintage machines....

Okay... I'm psyched to report my progress in the last week or so:
I got my Singer 115 treadle back together, the head totally cleaned up/oiled and re-furbed! Beautiful!!!!! I'll post pictures soon. At some point, I'm going to dismantle the irons and have them blasted and repainted... but for now... it's fine. I haven't sewn with her yet, but she's running smoothly without thread. I have to download a manual ...

So... here's another story... (takes sip of coffee): Today I'm out Garage sale-ing around town. Drive to a sale where I know they've got a Singer cabinet/machine/stool. I get there, and the poor 15-91 is half out of it's hinges, about to crash through the bottom panel of the little cabinet 50. I immediately RUSH to the rescue of the poor thing, demand tools from the poor older lady and fix the thing. Meanwhile, we (her husband, her daughter and herself) all get to talking. I tell the lady, she needs to keep her 15-91 if she's going to do FMQ, 'cause it's great for that. But no, she's moving tomorrow, and doesn't want to take it. When asked if I'd take it, I truthfully say... I need another 15, like I need a whole in my head (I have three already). (Meanwhile, tinkering with the cabinet to get it fixed to work right). Well, how much would I pay for it? Truthfully, I say.... I think it's worth what you're asking ($45) even tho the wiring needs to be redone. Would I take it? (No, I don't need another...). Do I charge by the hour for fixing sewing machines? <sigh> No, I don't! lol. So we got to talkin some more...
The more I said it was a great machine and she should keep it AND that I didn't want another...the more they kept trying to get me to take it. So guess what... an hour later, she GAVE me the machine, the attachments, cabinet and stool, and a huge bag full of buttons. I STILL do not need/want it! lol. However, I'm already planning to put my Jap. 15 clone in the cabinet, fix up the 15-91 and rewire it.... then sell it. I guess I'm now in business. ?????

So does this happen a lot to everyone who's got a lot of machines? The first 15-91 I bought for $80! Spent another $60 fixing her up, and then GAVE her to a friend to sew with. So I guess this evens things out?! Now if someone would 'gift' me with a 411G or 201K treadle.... I'd be a happy woman!

You're a good woman, Kim!! :) You relieved that poor woman of such a burden!! And you deserve it.... :)
