I wouldn't mind finding a cabinet to put my 503a into, but running out of space for cabinets!

DH is refinishing the Hales Crescent cabinet - he had to rebuild the top - so I need to save a place for that machine! I am also almost done with the Hitachi refinish, but where oh where am I going to put him? OH My!

I think this cabinet is for a Necchi. I once saw a Necchi BU in a cabinet like this. I think some Necchi fit into Singer cabinets; so, a Singer may work with this.

I used my Singer 401A e-machine yesterday to finish off the binding with a decorative stitching. It was lots faster than treadling my Singer 328K. First time using it for binding work. It had no trouble, great little machine with lots of power, just had to get use to the foot control.

All quilting is done on my Davis NVF.

Monica I really enjoyed seeing these pics of the quilt you are sewing with your Davis VF. Mine is sadly still sitting on a box, and I can't sew with her yet. My DH doesn't seem to have the same sense of urgency as I do to get her in her treadle. :( But we all know how that goes!! Anyway, just wanted to say how cool it looks sewing a quilt!!

Thank you!
Your project is larger than just wiping clean a cabinet. You are constructing a top. Soon you will be treadling your Davis, patience. :)

Texas Jan, that cabinet looks a lot like the cabinet my Eldredge Two Spools sits in, except the Two Spools doesn't say "White" on the cabinet treadle.

I am at the point with my treadles that I only 'want' the treadles now that have a name on them - like the White that says 'White' on the irons, the Davis, etc. I am getting very picky!

Congratulations on your new cabinet - it will clean up really nice!

Nancy

Nancy, what kind of drawer "pulls" are on your cabinet? My twigs pulls are shot, and I'm not talented enough to recarve them like Glenn could do.

Nancy,
There is that same cabinet except it is lighter on Ebay item #290635921098 and it is a Pfaff. However don't know if a Singer machine will fit as I don't have a Pfaff.

Sharon, that makes how many featherweights? Don't you collect featherweights? That is a pretty tan FW.

Only 4 Featherweights, the other 3 are black; one is a centennial model. I'd been wanting a tan FW for a long time, found her @ the Houston quilt Show and put her on layaway. She came home with me from the Dallas quilt show.

I am still on my quest to find either a 15 "clone" or one of the "newer" Japanese made machines that drop the feed dog so I can get set up for FMQ on a vintage machine. Lost a bid on a really nice two-tone 15 clone on ebay this weekend :(

Here a one of the "newer" ones listed on CL. Would like opinions please. Not familiar at all with Brother machines. Would this be good to use for FMQ?

TIA for any thoughts, comments, suggestions! :)
