My bobbin winder broke off my belt guard on my featherweight. Suggestions on how to fix it. I know you can't weld it so has to be another way. Broke off flush with the machine, sitting here looking pitiful.

Hollyann, can you read the signature? I have not seen an antique nor vintage machine with a signature! That is really a cool piece of history!

Nancy

Looks like it says "Chas. Raymond" ?

Awwww! :( How did the bobbin winder break the belt guard? (I'm sorry, I don't have an answer for you!)

Sure looks like my Wheeler and Wilson #8.
Did you notice that the treadle wheel is on the outside of the treadle frame, very common on the #8 treadles.

Cathy

Very sad, and those were very well-built and expensive cabinets to begin with. I remember doing the inflation math on the original purchase price when I got mine. It probably held a place of high honor in someone's home at one time.
