Yes, I use Coats and Clarks multicolor machine quilting and crafts in my 15 and it worked well.

Well I tried the other treadle but it isn't working. I put a belt on it and threaded it and put the bobbin in. It isn't picking up the bobbin thread.
I may have it threaded wrong, I don't know about the bobbin. And I don't have a bobbin coverplate.
I guess maybe I'll start with this one, clean it then figure out the rest.
Here's a pic and the accessories that are with it. Don't know what some of them are.

Ok here I am - back! I cannot get enough of this thread. Have any of you had any experience with a Kenmore Model 58? My friend wanted to learn to sew today so I came over to see if her machine works. It took us about an hour to discover it has a knee pedal!!! I have never seen one of those. We can't seem to get the presser foot to go down and I'm wondering if there's a trick to it or if it's frozen. She decided it was too much work for her to get into shape so she says I can have it if I want it, and if nothing else I am taking it to "tinker" on. I think it's pretty neat!

Billy, I hope you can go. Get a room and just take it easy with plenty of rest breaks and use a scooter. Unfortanetly the bank account will not let me go. I have been on the road almost since Sept. 24th. It have been fun trips but still takes a toll on the pocket book.

I look forward to the day we can go dumpster diving. But last weekend was an easy one. On the drive to Mom's house from the airport told my sister I needed to stretch my legs. So we stopped at an antique mall to just walk around. It is hugh so we never get through the whole thing. We were getting ready to go so made a stop at the restroom. As I was waiting for Sis looked down the aisle and see a familiar silhouette so wandered up to see what it was.

Now new owner of a Davis VF2. It sewed right off after alittle oil and cleaning of the manual release tension that was so gummed up with dried oil you couldn't get thread between the discs. The fabric does pucker after the seam is sewn. I think it is the old needle not going through the fabric cleanly. So I'm on the look out for a source of Boye 10 needles.

Oh, want to know what it cost me???? I got it home in my carryon luggage so no shipping cost. Just had to leave the dress from the wedding at my Mom's. So so far I'm out $8.99 plus tax. I think she will jump to the head of the cleaning line. I have a treadle cabinet from my other Davis so that is where she will go. I will post some pictures next week when I am back home.

Two on the right are for making "rolled" hems, I believe. Not sure about the other one. Definitely keep those attachments with the machine since they are back clamping. It makes them a little harder to find. The replacement slide plate for the 66 shouldn't be that hard to find. I think once they are completely off, most people can't quite get them back on and the originals get lost. It will be really pretty once it's polished up.

EDIT: Ooops! I looked too quick, they are rotary attachments like Charlee noted--sorry, not back clamping.

The model 27/127 has a shuttle (vibrating shuttle), the model 15's have bobbins (oscillating)!

Uh oh - now you have me all excited and nervous too! It does have a bobbin - one like my "newer" old machines. Is that normal? I thought maybe it is newer than I originally thought because I thought all the old ones had those "bullet" type shuttles.

Here are a few pictures...I'm sad to say someone used this as their coffee table (certainly not me - my Husband would be put out of the house if he dared to put a cup on my sewing machine!) for some time so there are rings. Also the decals are starting to turn a bit silver and one is nearly scratched off. Is there any way to preserve them from any further damage? I do like to sew on this machine, and it's a great one for my kids because the bobbin is one that they are familiar with, but I don't want to ruin it.

OMG!!!!!!!!! Do you realize what you have????? You have one the earliest Model 15's with the Sphinx decal!!!! I have only seen one other - until I saw that machine I did not even know Singer used the Sphinx on their earliest 15's! How cool is that????????? I can't tell for sure from the picture, but what is the serial number?
