Nancy Uh oh - now you have me all excited and nervous too! It does have a bobbin - one like my "newer" old machines. Is that normal? I thought maybe it is newer than I originally thought because I thought all the old ones had those "bullet" type shuttles. Here are a few pictures...I'm sad to say someone used this as their coffee table (certainly not me - my Husband would be put out of the house if he dared to put a cup on my sewing machine!) for some time so there are rings. Also the decals are starting to turn a bit silver and one is nearly scratched off. Is there any way to preserve them from any further damage? I do like to sew on this machine, and it's a great one for my kids because the bobbin is one that they are familiar with, but I don't want to ruin it. |

I found this on my local Kijiji (like Craigslist). What do you all think? There's some rust on the front edge of the machine bed, but the decals look pretty good. Should I offer $5 and see what they say? I've already got a Sphinx model with a cabinet.

Congrats! I only clean my machines with sewing oil to keep the decals from turning. Others use a protective coat over the decals, but I don't. |
Sounds like a great idea Billy, you definitely have helped me and I've only visited your area a couple of times, and the paint jobs you have done on machines is just wonderful. I do hope you are feeling much better and improving so we can benefit from you knowledge.

Has anyone used any fun variegated cotton thread for FMQ in their 15-91s that worked well? I made up one of those super fast jelly roll quilts out of left over strips that I thought would be fun to experiment with variegated thread.
