ooh shes so pretty!

Ok. I went to goodwill today on my way to pick up the kiddos and they had this sewing cabinet in the corner, with an ebay auction taped to it (someone elses's, not theirs) showing a mint condition Singer 99K in pristine cabinet with warranty papers and all the accessories. Started at 550.00. They thought they'd auction this machine using that as a value reference. Needless to say they got zero bids. This machine, also a 99k, is missing the plate cover, and the cabinet is in pretty terrible shape, plus it has no other accessories, but the machine itself is in great condition. Anyway, I asked what they wanted for it and she offered it to me for 35.00 so I took it. They also added in this other singer contraption I am not entirely positive what it is but I took it, figured someone can help me identify. Looks like a loom or lacemaker or something. It's heavy and large, about 4 feet long. I thought it was a decent score. What do y'all think?

A singer 99's table might be worth the $35
You can still get slide plates - try sew-classic
that other thing looks like some kind of knitting machine
out of my league.

ah ha! Knitting machine! I have no idea its value but the two machines combined must be worth what I paid :)

You best start making some Christmas scarves pronto!! I bet you can still find directions for it some where and wouldn't it be cool if it worked? Good score.

Yep! A knitting machine! Nice little 99 too! :)

Linda, for $15, you couldn't go wrong! Make it work and learn in the process! :)

Here is a link that shows a Knitting machine. Have to scroll down the page a bit. In canada they are asking $449.00. http://www.sewknit.ca/knitting_machines_used.htma

this one is dirty (fixable) and the case is a little dinged up. I guess I should research and see if there's any missing parts. I noticed one knob was missing but it might be in the back of my explorer since the case wasn't properly closed when I loaded it. I didn't care about this one at all, but I figured I could flip it for cash. I would like to get my new Designer Ruby paid off ASAP.

jennb,
Your 99K is a nice little machine, it looks to be in good shape.
I hope you're enjoying your new Designer Ruby, I get to play with one at work. Maybe if I sell enough of the expensive embroidery machines, I can afford to buy one for me.
