Nancy, absolutely no rush. I have a feeling it's something I should intuitively be able to do, but I'm also a bit hesitant when it comes to changing the original machine and tinkering with electricity. So, I've just put it off. Cathy was really sweet to gift it to me. And I like to try to fix it .

It is dirty with the usually dust, grime, etc. If you look past that, It looks to be in very nice condition, a very unique base that it sits on, which adds to the weight. She also picked up a manual, a Necchi accessory box, Necchi bobbins, an extra Necchi bobbin case. There are two foot controls; will have to see which one works.

Jan, unless I'd have torn those legs the rest of the way apart, there was no way to just squeeze the glue into the cracks, so I put a thin line of glue over the cracks between the wood and used a business card to "push" the glue into the cracks. I repeated it 3 or 4 times until I felt I had enough glue to do some good, then clamped the pieces together, used a damp cloth and wiped off the extra glue that squeezed back out. When it was dry, I sanded to make sure that the external glue was gone before I stained the wood. :)

I'm wonder about the supernova's I see some saying a lady kenmore is the same machine, but the kenmore looks bigger and I have yet to see the kenmore with the flip extention, plus these nova's look more the size of a FW ???

If nothing is plugged into the left side you go full speed all the time, you can't control stops, starts, slow, fast, it just goes! Now, I need to get it out again and see if I can control anything with just the left side plugged in using the knee controller! He told me that I would not be able to sew like that - with no speed control!

Well, I FINISHED my nemesis machine, the Pfaff 332. It had countless issues when I got it. I had someone very familiar with this model tweak it and it still had problems. This machine has been loved HARD. It has many war wounds and love bites:> It was a big lesson to me to have patience and not force things. I forced the belt in it a little too hard and snap. There went $55. I had to completely remove the motor, resolder some connections, clean it. Then I had to remove the hook and do some adjustments. It finally sews a straight stitch and zig zag without problems now. Yippee! It's so heavy that it will kill me to take out of the house. But, dang it. I'm going to use it!
