Just got in the door - DS got T-boned - totaled my old car. I hope he can collect some insurance - likely the other guy was on drugs - DS is ok - bruised, burned from the air bags, aches and scratches. He really is blessed to have walked away from that wreck. The car was thrown a pretty long ways and stopped by a big electrical or phone box on the far side of the road by the back end of his car. Hurray for airbags. Oh his little car was in the parking lot when we got there - right where he landed.

PPQ (pumpkinpatachquilter):) I'm calling you PPQ from here in.
I love my name! It's Monica. I read your blog today. Your quilts are beautiful!! You are very artistic with your quilting, and the birthday cake for your 1 year old was adorable. I enjoyed quickly reading through your wonderful blog, a great inspiration! Thanks!!! I knew a Monica once, a neighbor of mine, but she's moved!

Well Pumpkin, you just met two people who actually like their names - Monica and me! I have always liked the name Nancy! I don't know of any other name I'd like better than being named Nancy.
Nancy Edited to add - Miriam I didn't hit refresh before replying...so your post just showed up for me! I hope your son is alright! How scary! :( |
Miriam, sorry about the accident. I don't know whether to love or hate airbags. I'm glad your son was able to walk away.

Miriam,
I'm so glad that your DS is okay for the most part, it could've been so much worse. I used to have an Aunt Miriam, she was my Grandma Ruth's sister. I miss them. Sharon |

Miriam you have so much bad drama going on in your household lately. Knock on wood, things happen in threes...you need better karma over there. Maybe you should plant some trees or do some type of Feng Shui. I'm saving another prayer for you and your family. |

Wilbur is doing real well - he suddenly knows his numbers, shapes, colors and the alphabet - DD does not remember teaching him any of that. He's also now talking in sentences, using the potty, staying dry all night and into EVERYTHING an almost 3 year old can find to get into plus he's gained a bit of weight. Major good stuff for an almost 3 year old. DD wonders how long he had that infection. |
Thanks, Monica!! The quilt is special to me because I made it for a special friend who is not able to anything like sewing. I made it for her to give to her daughter for graduation. Long story, but she's physically very limited. It was my blessing to make it for her.
The Davis is doing pretty well. Poor old girl was left to herself for a long time. She was barely moving when we got her, but I oiled her up really good and after a couple of days got her to move freely. Had to really clean everything we could reach, but now she sews. DH hasn't started working on her cabinet yet....that's probably quite a ways down his HoneyDo list!! LOL Glad to be back!! |

Ok this is just sad. My girl friend called me so excited. She'd found a Singer sphinx at an auction. It had been auctioned off before she had a chance to view the machine. She talked an "antique" dealer who had just paid $50 for the machine to sell it to her for $90. She thought it was so pretty that she was willing to give him the $40 extra. Well, she sent me a photo! Geeze, I didn't know if I should just keep my mouth shut about what she had, or tell her the truth? Anyway, I decided to tell her that she didn't have a vintage HC at all, but a modern reproduction of the original Singer model 15 with a Sphinx decal - probably made in either Taiwan or China. What do you guys think? Do you think I should not have burst her bubble?

Jljack - that cabinet front looks really pretty. Is the coffin top as nicely detailed? Lucky you for finding that!
