Thougth I'd share this new find here as well as the photo thread. This is a 201k from 1957. I found it at a thrift store for $17. She runs smooth although a little loud around the bobbin area. But her stitch quality is amazing and the free motion on this machine is insane. My jaw dropped as the fabric so easily slid around the bed and the stitches were super uniform and even. This machine seems better at free motion than any other machine I've tried. And I've tried free motion on my Singers 221, 401, 403, 15-90 and 15-88 and this 201k blows them all out of the water. I was very surprised.

Wow!! That 201K looks very different than my 3 201s which were all made in Elizabethport, NJ. Thanks for sharing.

This is the newer aluminum body and was made in Scotland and sold in the Canadian market.

Okay....so now that I have Singers feather weight, 301, 99K, 66 handcrank, 15-99, Modle 12 treadle, 401, and the 500 Rocketeer, is my collection now complete. Are there any more "got to have it" Singers to collect?
Cause...I just counted, and DH has 15 fishing poles, so that means I can add some more right? :-) you need a 201 |
Redsquirrel, love your 201!
Skip, happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Skip, Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu! Skip, I don't tent camp anymore either, but I am not going to allow DH to put a TV in our camper! I go camping to get away from the TV - that way we are forced to talk, play games, just have quiet times! Even when I go with girl friends to horse camp we are busy riding - no TV's allowed then either! Nancy |

Hey folks,
I know we are not supposed to sell our machine on here, so I will not "sell them here", but I will list the electric machines I am looking to part ways with. (to make room for the older ones) PM me if interested, please I have: Necchi BC portable (SS machine prior to the ZZ machine) Sewmor Blue portable (15 clone) Hamilton Ross TSM (complete) Kenmore "faceted" (not sure the model) in cabinet Windsor B portable (cast iron base, foot shaped pedal) Viking 1030 Portable (SS machine) White FR portable. All but the Necchi and the Kenmore are in my photo album called "tradable" |
