My latest find: Gritzner in a treadle cabinet... the cabinet needs some work, but the machine cleaned up rather nicely. I think my wife, Susan, has fallen for it- so it looks like my treadle will be the 201K I picked up a couple weeks ago. I need to clean it up and make a table top for it to fit onto the irons of a treadle I was given.

Thanks! Sounds fairly simple. There is a "staple" in one end, which must be the staple link you refer to.
Your cabinet to your machine is very pretty. |

John, That really is a pretty machine and in wonderful shape. I saw your post somewhere else and fell in love with it. Very unique.
Treadle belts. After trying to punch through a treadle belt with an awl and doing a better job of running it through my finger, I started using a 1/16" drill bit in my cordless drill. It is quicker, easier, more accurate, and safer for me. ~G~ |

The other (and best) option is a set of treadle belt pliers (just so's ya knows) One the left is a pair of Singer, on the right a par of Bernard brand (better IMO) |
