Question regarding decals
Hi everyone, I know that you all know the answer to this so that's why I am asking. The beautiful decals that are on the Singer sewing machines, in particular the 301's and the featherweights. Do they only come on the black machines? I have noticed that all the tan, white and two-toned ones (that I've seen) do not have them. I don't expect to see the decals on the ones that have been restored and painted but just wondered if the real colors that Singer produced had any. I appreciate your responses.

Yes they had some decals. The decals were not as obvious as those on the black machines but they did have some.
Here is a link to a site that sells reproduction decals for Singers. You can get an idea what they looked like here.

I think you're right, Arianna - the non-black 301's and FW's didn't have decals on the base. They're actually often added to repainted machines, but they were excluded from the original coloured ones to give a more "modern" look.
