Default Score!! Found a 401A at the thrift for $10.00

So today after finding a little green box of Singer short shank feet: Ruffler, binder, narrow rolled hem, a gathering shirring foot and an adjustable hemmer foot. LOL oddly enough also in the box was a snap on quarter inch foot . For the low low price of $10 *shakes head* yea... it's a bit high. But i figured it was worth it for the ruffler and the adjustable hemming/hemmer (?) foot.

But my Major score was a Singer 401A! Seriously $10 bucks. You betcha I lugged that baby through the store. I wasn't about to put it down. lol She's still chillin in the truck So this is the only pic I have of her. The price tag is still on it. No accessories or cams were included.

I just had to share my goodies i found today.

In what area of the world did you find that one? Seriously a $10 401a. I guess I should start going to my local thrift store. You're plain so lucky. Congrats! That's an awesome score.

Ooooh lucky! I am so jealous! My local GW never has accessories and machines are generally 25-30-40 or 50 for Singers when they have them.

I never get that. When I check shopgoodwill.com it always seems like the store in Oregon has all the accessories. I wonder if they ship them north?

Well, I'm not getting them. I've been getting beat out of stuff there repeatedly lately. Someone else must have noticed what sure looked like FW bobbin cases mixed in with the piles of mixed stuff. I mostly watch Eugene though which is home, just to save on shipping costs. But yeah, a lot goes through the Hillsboro location. I notice though, that they are starting the bidding there for $25 for any sewing machine. Eugene is still at a reasonable starting price, good thing/bad thing.

LOL I forgot to add one more thing i did get on this thrift trip. For $.75, a set of unknown Kenmore cams. If you know the machine they belong to I would love to add her to, "The List" hahaha. Like i need any more. I'm just about to break in to the 20 machine club. This one makes number 19.

Middle of nowhere Utah! haha It's a little odd how they priced the machines today. Like a 'newer fancier' less known one called Europro Delux Denim machine which was priced at $20, it had several feet and ran ok. A relatively rough looking Mongomery Ward was $15 and this one was $10. Normally they price machines like this in their 'collectibles' area for $100+ Even a Singer 15 treadle that was in terrible shape was priced at $75 last week.

I think the lady who normally overprices things is off during the pricing of the machines LOL and this one slipped through her grasp. Usually I can nab a rough machine for between $12 and $15, $10 if it doesn't run at all and has visible damage to electrical cords. LOL those are my favs to get and fix. Any 'collectibles' are above $50 so i was totally surprised to see this one at this price.
