Default Scratch on a faceplate

My dressmaker 205 is looking lovely and shiny minus a scratch on the faceplate, is there a suggested way to filling those in, can they be painted on? Can you just purchase a new faceplate? Or does she simply have a scratch and that is that.

I don't know how to repair/hide the scratch but here's one for sale on Ebay. Not sure if it's your model # or not:

That's a slide plate, the face plate is on the end of the machine.

I don't know the 205. Is the faceplate chromed or is it painted? Steel or plastic? Thanks.
