Should I buy this machine?
https://stlouis.craigslist.org/atq/d...140361937.html
Price started at $50 and is now $25 just a few days later. The ad says bobbin case is missing, but I don't think it is based on pictures I asked the seller to send me.
I don't know much about this type of machine, and it would be a 90 minute drive one way to get to it.

Looks very much like a Singer 15. Not a New Home I am familiar with, but at $25.00 and a bit of time you don't have much to lose. Do you have a treadle yet? Vertical bobbin? Belts are about $10.00

I do have one treadle, a Franklin 27/127 clone which I just recently cleaned up and made it work for the first time. I haven't sewn on it yet though.
These are the pictures the seller sent me of the bobbin area.

No telling on the bobbin being in the case. I may offer him $20, it's still a long drive. I like the idea of smaller treadle platform, rather than the very large tables.
The real problem is that I currently have only one more machine to clean up, another 66 that doesn't need much done at all, and then what would I do??
I am not on facebook, this is the first such group I signed up for.

It might be a rotary, round bobbin model. These are fine machines, very smooth and light running, and I think needles and bobbins are available and easy to find. Someone has to verify this, I can't identify the model number spot on. Most of the later ones like this are fitted with electrical motor, so this one is not as common. If you don't mind a treadle, it is worth the chance. It's a bargain price, even if you need to invest a bit of time and effort to get it clean and nice again. It can be a bit of a fuzz to track down and identify correct accessories for these models, but they are available.

Some of the New Home machines took a different needle. I see that it shows what size needle to match up to on the bed. There is a similar one shown at New Home Vintage Sewing Machines Club
Neat looking machine and for the price..... you haven't gotten it yet?
