Default Singer 127 repair question

How can the front slide plate ona Singer 127 be snugged up so that it does not slide out so easy (by its selfwhen machine is tipped)?

slight arc... put a pencil under the center the short way and push lightly on the two ends. VERY little bend will do the trick... VERY.

What SteveH said. But be advised, some slide plates are harder than others. The one I got for my Minnesota Mdl. B was so springy I had to put it in a vise and tap it with a hammer. It wouldn't bend otherwise.

That’s what I usually have to do for any of them. Of course, photos of SteveH that I’ve seen makes me think that he’s stout enough to bend one double with his bare hands if he wanted to.....

If I ever get withing 1.5 hours of CD's place - I'll be making a side trip and knocking on his door LOL!!

Oklahoma really isn't all that far from South Dakota - and I don't think there are any hills in the way - I don't especially like going up and down hills . . .
