Default Singer 201-2 Base Commission?

I recall someone posted a while ago about their crafty husband who made them a lovely little base for their 201 or other vintage machine. Does anyone know who that was, and if said husband would be willing to make one on commission? I have given up finding a bentwood case for Gideon, and would really love for him to have a nice wood base.

My DH built a base for my 99. However, if yours is a 201, it really doesn't need a base. I sometimes use my 201 on the tabletop without a base and it works just fine.

Here are some good directions, with pics, of building a sewing machine base. It looks easy enough even without woodworking experience: http://www.treadleon.net/woodshop/bu...dingbases.html

Glenn is his board name, he's also known to some as "Skip". He's written wonderful tutorials for us to be able to refinish our machines and cabinets ourselves, and before he retired, he had an antique refinishing business. If you send a PM to Glenn, he's usually more than happy to help!
