    Default Is a Singer 301 light(er) weight?

Hi All! I have noticed that you all refer to the 301 as the 'big sister" to a featherweight....I have been looking for a featherweight to take with us when we are travelling and can't find a little one in good condition (that I can afford) but there is a 301 available not too far away that looks pretty good.

...if she is a lighter weight machine (compared to the weight of other older machines) I would probably rather have one that I can FM quilt on as well as piece.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    TIA
    Joann

Thank you!...that is definitely lighter than my 128 which is the smallest machine I have (so far)

I have one that is in a suitcase and you can keep it in there when you travel. Not too terribly heavy. I paid $86 with shipping for mine. It is in real nice condition. They really work well.

They only weigh a few more pounds than a FW and they have a handle on top to carry them with. I think you will be very happy with a 301.....I now have 7 of them .
