Hi Jim
Great to hear that you enjoyed your first treadle and VS experiences. A lot of throw away comments about long bobbin machines put people off them. My first machine - given to me - was a Singer 28K. I knew nothing about it so I didn't know I was supposed to be intimidated by the shuttle. I just watched Muv's videos on You Tube and got on with learning to clean and use the machine. Some worry about the long bobbins not holding much thread well - properly wound - they hold more than the pundits would have us believe. Enjoy the machine. I would love to see a picture of it.

Here she is, after an evening of cleaning, with many more needed. My wife handed me some mending she needed today and I was able to do it with the 27!

Looks good. I don't see the usual "pin rash" commonly found on the arm on these old machines. Nice find. It is good to see these beauties put back into operation.

lookin good and glad you decided to keep and use the 27. That insert abourng the base doesn't look stock to my eye, but I haven't been around many parlor cabinets.

I have a parlor cabinet nearly identical to yours, minus the ornate wood scrolling. Mine has a narrow door on the left side too, that covers those drawers. I love it! It came with a fabulous 1908 Singer 66 Lotus. The whole deal was a wonderful find.

Love your beautiful cabinet and machine. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Would you post a picture with the cabinet open? I would like to see how that cabinet works.

Thanks

Sorry it took so long to get a picture of it open, but I had to hand make all new hinges.
