Default Singer 101 at Local Thrift Store

First time seeing one of these live. Machine was in decent shape, but the foot controller cord was done, and it was missing the actual power cord. The table was a bit rough, however.

I blew my budget on a Bernina 930, 328K, and 503A last week, or I probably would have picked it up.

That is one machine I would make rooom for. I've got a 201-2, and a 15-91. I need a 101 and what ever the next generation of the 15-91 was to have all four potted motor machines.

I'd love to make that one all purty again.

Oh well, hopefully somebody will rescue it.

I'll keep an eye on it. I have a couple of items for sale, so if one of those comes through, I'll likely pick it up.

I have a 101 and loved using it. But it started sewing slower and slower one day until it quit. Not sure if it is a wiring or motor problem but definitely plan on getting it fixed. They are nice machines.

I love my 101. Well, I love them all. But some are more special in my heart such as the 101. Do keep watching her Mark, as she is calling to you. I like her cabinet also.

What makes a Singer a 101? It looks just like my other vintage machines, but of course, I am a novice at this.

The potted motor on the 101 is different than the ones on the 201 or the 15-91, and the stitch length knob on the bed sets it apart.

The handwheel is smaller than most as well.

I love my 101 it is set-up to do f.m.q. with the feed dogs up ,it does just fine , the wiring is simple to replace .I didn't have to mess with the motor . DottieBug
