I forgot to include a couple links for presser foot pressure.Adjusting presser foot pressure and What about presser foot pressure?

Thanks for the presser feet links, very interesting stuff. The presser bar spring on this machine was actually under pressure all the time, even with the screw all the way up. Fortunately I had another spring to swap in while doing a more detailed cleaning. That may have made a difference too.

Default Reducing pressure bar setting

Ah ha! Another light bulb moment. I would never thought of doing this when storing a machine. I would need to leave a sticky note to remind myself with the machine!
