Cathy,

I've got some of the attachments and tools figured out. I can even make ruffles with the rufflers. I got the binders figured out, and the hemmers too, except I can't get the fabric started in them at all.

What I don't have figured out is the tuckers. I've read the instructions that come with the Singer and Greist sets, but I can't get it figured out. Not enough good pictures I guess.

Do you have any good understandable instructions for the older and newer tuckers? Or links to same?

Joe

Joe, have you seen April's tutorial with a video demonstration? http://www.april1930s.com/html/singe...ttachment.html

I've got several old Singer instruction books, I'll give it a look and see what I find (after we get back from Precision Reloading).

Imc8,

Thanks for those instructions. I saved them to my accessories file.

Pat,
I'm on slow dial up. It takes from 30 to 45 minutes just to download a 1:30 video. I rarely even try to watch them.
I'll try to watch the one you linked to.

Cathy,
Thanks for the manual in the email. I think I have most of the tucker variations covered, well until I run into a different one.

Joe, how do you deal with a slow dial-up? I guess I am just spoiled being in a big city with cable. You must be out in the country. Pretty flat in that neighborhood. been down that way many times. have x-inlaws just south of springfield.

Here is today's haul - not that I needed more misc puzzle box stuff - but I did need two of the rufflers, one of which is very hard to find. It was put in one style puzzle box AND one of the metal boxes, I have the metal box set.

And a box of Standard "A" attachments. This is the only ruffler I've seen that is somewhat similar to the "66" ruffler. So even though I don't own a Standard machine (yet) I couldn't resist.

As far as I know (based on teh Singer Attachment Yahoo group) there are only four styles of Rufflers for the back clamp 66, and three styles of tuckers. There are basically two styles of the rest of the attachments, one that uses the special foot the others hook into, and one that is the basic Singer set but with back clamp instead of side clamp.

wilburness,
We decided long ago that we didn't want to get to buried in things until we moved out of IL. A bad choice as we're still here. We've been discussing it but haven't really got the reliable extra funds for that.

Cathy,
That's a haul and a half. What do all them itty bitty screws go to?

Most of those screws would have been holding all those funny brackets in puzzle boxes. I've seen plenty of puzzle boxes that everything (including fabric) was stripped out of them. Based on what I've got, this would have come out of three puzzle boxes.

Not all the items are Singer, or Puzzle Box - but most are.

Now I've got an even bigger selection of misc items for puzzle boxes, unfortunately it's mostly the same items that never get lost and all boxes come with.

I'd have been happy to pay the same amount of money and NOT get all the "junk" - it would have saved some on shipping LOL!!

I've also got a treadle drawer full of "broken/too rusty" items. They are mostly pieces of attachments that could be taken apart. Any I could put back together I did so. I've been tossing items in there as I've been sorting through. I'll be adding some of the new lot to that pile - some of these are too rusty to be worth dealing with, as they are so easy to get nice ones.
