Oh my gosh. I really like the 'feet' on the first one. They both have so much character and I sometimes wish they could talk. What stories they could tell us.

sounds weird but I like to use all of my senses when i get to know my machine (except taste..) the smell, the feel the damages, the wear, the maintenance (or lack of) all part of the story, still with the machines...

Steve, my hubby and watched Nova one night totally fascinated and glued to the screen. It was about the Ulfberht sword. Because of watching that show (twice) I understand what you are saying. I think that spills over into other areas of your life also. I don't think I will ever be that intense with anything I create in glass but I sure admire those that have that creative intenseness.

If you folks are ever going to be in the east bay with time to kill, let me know and I will open up the shop for ya. We can show you some of the armoring stuff and fire up the forge... (best in the twilight hours) I have a coal forge that is RARELY used (made from a WWII tank hatch..) and a triple burner propane forge that we use a lot. It goes from cold to 2200 deg in 3 minutes.
