Oh wow -- reading this tread is really making me want to get my treadle machine working! I hadn't really considered it until I 'met' you all on this thread!

I especially like that I can sew when the electricity is off - use my camping lantern. Cause sitting in the dark is very boring.

Reason 10 hits it well for me! I get anxiety a lot, so there are always manual machines set up with long scraps. Calms me right down. I recently paired a not too great treadle base with a. $5 ShopGoodwil 27 Sphinx. That heavy balance wheel really, makes a difference

$5. You scored! The decals look good too. Usually when I see a Sphinx the decals are beat all to heck.
I played on my 27 treadle just a bit today. It's fun when I get it going the right direction. I'm still learning starting.
My feet don't quite follow what my hand is doing yet.
The manual tension release on the 27 takes a little getting used to too.

Which makes the floor squeak and groan, and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! (Halloween humor)
